Management Team

Jason is a Chartered Electronic Engineer with extensive experience of leading international multidisciplinary programme teams across all stages of product development.
He has a strong technical background in medical devices and scientific instrumentation and strong technical and client management skills. He has conducted end to end projects in highly regulated industries from initial requirements, through final stage verification and validation to full production, successfully meeting critical milestones such as volume production and design transfer.

A co-founder of Ancon and a physical chemist with 30 year’s experience as a senior executive in the oil and chemical industries, principally with Shell International Oil Company. As a member of the management team, he was responsible for fuels, business development and corporate strategy. Previously the Chief Executive of Ancon, he has recently stepped aside to become Chairman.

Founder of Ancon, Dr Gorbunov is the inventor of Ancon’s proprietary technology and has had 30 patents successfully granted in the USA, China, Japan, Taiwan and UK. He is the author of more than 150 scientific papers and has more than 25 years’ experience as a leading scientist in characterisation, cancer research, medical device technology and instrument development.

Nicholas is a graduate engineer and Chartered Accountant, and began serving Ancon as a portfolio CFO in 2019 advising the company on its strategic, financial and commercial goals. Prior to working as a portfolio CFO, Nicholas had an accomplished and successful career as a CFO for several companies within the science and energy industries, ranging from setting up his own oil & gas company to acting as CFO of Hurricane Energy plc. During his career he has raised over £100 million in equity finance and £450 million in debt finance, and has held both executive and non executive directorships.
Ancon employs 14 people, with 8 high-calibre R&D staff with specialist skills in trace volatile compound analysis and detection, nanotechnology, aerosol science, mechanical and chemical engineering and data analysis, AI and machine learning.
